A demonstration only has to convince a room. A system that flies on its own, or watches a patient through the night, has to hold up against everything a controlled room leaves out.

Most artificial intelligence is judged where it's flattered: clean inputs, a forgiving benchmark, a human standing by to intervene. The field offers none of that. It's noisy, adversarial, incomplete, and indifferent to how a model scored in the lab.

Applied autonomy isn't a larger model. It's the discipline of staying correct, and staying safe, when the ground truth stops cooperating. That gap between a system that demonstrates and a system that holds is the whole problem. It's the one N6C exists to close.
